For apartment balconies, top-mount continuous profile systems offer the best balance of aesthetics and cost. For luxury villas, concealed systems give a frameless glass look. For budget projects, bracket-cover systems are most affordable. All our systems use Aluminium 6063 alloy for superior corrosion resistance.
Aluminium railings are 65% lighter than steel, naturally rust-proof, require zero painting maintenance, and last 25–30 years. Steel railings are heavier, can rust without regular painting, but have higher load-bearing capacity. Prism Rail aluminium 6063 railings offer the best balance of strength, weight, and durability for most residential and commercial projects.
Aluminium 6063 railings with powder coating last 25–30 years with minimal maintenance. The alloy is naturally corrosion-resistant and does not rust like iron or steel. In coastal or humid environments, aluminium performs significantly better than steel or iron alternatives.
12mm tempered (toughened) safety glass is standard for residential balconies up to 3 feet height. For high-rise buildings, wind-prone areas, or commercial applications, 15–19mm tempered or 12mm laminated glass is recommended. Our heavy-duty profiles can accommodate glass up to 25mm thick.
Yes. We offer three finish options: Silver (anodised), Wooden (wood-grain powder coating), and Custom Powder Coating in any RAL colour code. You can match your building facade, interior design, or brand colours. PVD coating is also available for stainless steel products in Gold, Rose Gold, and Black finishes.
A concealed glass railing system embeds the aluminium channel within the floor slab during construction. The glass panel appears to rise directly from the floor with no visible mounting hardware, creating a premium frameless look. This is ideal for luxury residential and high-end commercial projects.

Top-mount railings are installed on top of the floor slab — the most common method for balconies and terraces. Side-mount railings attach to the side face of the slab, preserving full floor space. Side-mount is ideal for narrow balconies where maximum floor area is needed.
Clean glass panels with a mild glass cleaner and soft cloth every 2–4 weeks. Inspect aluminium profiles for loose screws quarterly. Avoid abrasive cleaners on powder-coated surfaces. For coastal areas, rinse with fresh water monthly to prevent salt buildup. Aluminium railings require no painting or anti-rust treatment.
LED integrated handrails have a built-in channel for LED strip lighting, providing ambient illumination along staircases, walkways, and balconies. They combine safety, functionality, and modern design aesthetics. LED handrails are increasingly popular for luxury apartments, hotels, and commercial projects.
Prism Rail is located at:
As per the Indian National Building Code (NBC 2016) and BIS standard IS 1148:2021, the minimum height of balcony railing is 1.05 metres (approximately 3.5 feet) for buildings above 3 storeys. For buildings up to 3 storeys, the minimum height is 0.9 metres (3 feet). These are mandatory safety requirements that all railing installations must comply with.
12mm tempered (toughened) safety glass is the standard for residential glass railings in India. Tempered glass is 4-5 times stronger than regular glass and shatters into small blunt pieces when broken. For commercial buildings and high-rise applications, 15–19mm tempered or 12mm laminated glass is recommended. All glass must comply with BIS standards for safety glazing.
Glass railing cost in India: 12mm tempered glass costs ₹180-250 per sq ft, 12mm laminated glass costs ₹350-500 per sq ft. The total glass railing cost (glass + aluminium profile + installation) ranges from ₹350-800 per sq ft depending on the system type and glass quality. See our Price Guide for a full cost breakdown, or contact us for project-specific quotations.
Yes. Aluminium 6063 is naturally resistant to rain, humidity, and moisture. Unlike steel or iron, aluminium does not rust when exposed to monsoon conditions. Our powder-coated aluminium railings are tested to withstand heavy rain, humidity, and even salt air in coastal areas for 25+ years without any corrosion or colour fading.
Aluminium railings are 65% lighter than iron, naturally rust-proof, require zero painting, and last 25-30 years. Iron railings are heavier, rust within 2-3 years without painting, and need repainting every 2-3 years. Over 10 years, aluminium saves 40-60% in total cost compared to iron. Aluminium also offers modern designs like concealed glass and LED handrails that iron cannot replicate.
Yes. Our aluminium glass railings use 12mm toughened (tempered) safety glass that does not shatter into sharp pieces, and the aluminium frames have no sharp edges. We also offer vertical (climb-resistant) designs to prevent children from climbing, and our systems meet Indian balcony safety standards. For extra safety, choose laminated glass that holds together even if broken.
Yes. We specialise in retrofit glass railing installation on existing balconies and terraces. Our team conducts a site measurement, checks slab strength, and uses top-mount or side-mount aluminium channels that do not require major civil work. Most existing RCC balconies can be upgraded to modern glass railings without demolition.
Standard installation takes 3–7 working days after final measurement and manufacturing. A typical apartment balcony is completed in 1–2 days, while larger villas or commercial projects may take 1–3 weeks depending on scope, finishes, and site conditions. We share a clear project timeline after the site survey.

Aluminium profiles carry a long-life corrosion-resistant finish, and our team supports service and spare-glass replacement. Contact us with your invoice for warranty terms specific to your product.
Yes. We provide free site measurement and technical survey before manufacturing. Our engineers assess slab levels, fixing points, glass size, and design preferences, then share shop drawings for approval. This ensures a perfect fit and avoids wastage on your aluminium or glass railing project.
Yes. Prism Rail supplies and installs aluminium, glass and stainless steel railings across India — including Gujarat, Maharashtra, Delhi NCR, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and the North-East — through our network of dealers, project teams, and channel partners. We also serve export markets worldwide.
Yes. We supply bare aluminium 6063 railing profiles, channels, and components without glass for fabricators, architects, and dealers. You can order extruded profiles, balusters, and handrails in standard or custom sections, with or without powder coating, for your own assembly.
For most residential balcony and staircase railings, tempered (toughened) glass is best — it is stronger and more cost-effective. Choose laminated glass where safety and sound insulation matter (schools, hospitals, high-rise, or child-safe areas) because it holds together when broken. Both comply with Indian safety-glazing standards; we recommend 12mm tempered or 12mm laminated.
There is no fixed upper limit — aluminium glass railings are engineered to project requirements. For homes, the usual balustrade height is 1.0–1.1 m (3.5 ft) as per NBC/BIS, but we manufacture taller guardrails up to 1.2 m or more for terraces, bridges, and commercial fall-protection as per structural design.
Yes. Aluminium 6063 is ideal for coastal and high-humidity cities like Mumbai, Goa, and Chennai because it forms a protective oxide layer and does not rust like steel or iron. Our marine-grade powder coating and anodised finishes further protect against salt spray, giving 25+ years of life near the sea.
Yes. Our glass railing systems use replaceable glass panels held in aluminium channels with rubber gaskets. A single damaged panel can be removed and replaced without changing the entire railing structure. We keep standard glass sizes in stock and can cut replacements to match your existing profile.
We offer a wide range of powder coating colours including RAL shades, anodised Silver, wood-grain (Wooden) finish, Matte Black, White, Bronze, Champagne, and Gold-tone. Custom RAL colours and PVD coatings for stainless steel (Gold, Rose Gold, Black) are available on request to match your facade or brand.
Yes. Our railing systems are designed to comply with the National Building Code (NBC 2016) and BIS standards (IS 1148, IS 2559 for glass) for height, load, and safety-glazing requirements. We provide specifications and, where needed, structural guidance so your project meets local authority and architect approvals.

For staircases, top-mount continuous aluminium handrails with glass or baluster infill are most popular, offering a safe grip and elegant look. Profile handrails with LED lighting suit luxury stairs, while SS/aluminium balustrades suit commercial staircases. We customise bends, landings, and wall brackets to your stair design.
For terraces and open roofs, frameless or semi-frameless glass railings give an unobstructed view and wind protection, while aluminium baluster railings are a durable, low-cost option. Choose top-mount profiles for slab edges or side-mount to save space. All are corrosion-resistant and ideal for outdoor terrace use.
No, aluminium does not rust. Unlike iron and steel, aluminium forms a natural oxide layer that prevents corrosion, so it never rusts even in rain or humidity. That is why aluminium 6063 railings are preferred over iron/steel for long-lasting, zero-maintenance balcony and staircase railings in India.
A frameless glass railing uses a floor-embedded or base-channel aluminium track with no top rail, giving a fully clear, modern look. A semi-frameless adds a top handrail and/or side posts for extra strength and a defined edge. Frameless suits luxury villas; semi-frameless suits balconies needing more support and a handhold.
For commercial buildings, malls, offices, and hospitals, we recommend stainless steel or aluminium balustrades with toughened/laminated glass for high traffic and durability, plus LED handrails for wayfinding. These meet load and safety codes, resist corrosion, and offer a premium appearance with low maintenance.
Yes. Our outdoor LED handrails are IP-rated and weatherproof, suitable for exterior staircases, terraces, balconies, and pathways. They use low-voltage, energy-efficient LED strips sealed inside the aluminium profile, with options for sensor, motion, or remote control operation.
Yearly maintenance is minimal. We recommend cleaning glass with mild cleaner (2–4 times a month), inspecting screws and gaskets quarterly, tightening any loose fittings, and rinsing with fresh water in coastal areas. Aluminium needs no painting or anti-rust treatment — a yearly visual check is usually enough.
